In response to a chaotic, uncertain world, this body of work explores individuals’ coping strategies. Turbulent skies and ambiguous swarms threaten communities comprised of delicate glass shelters. These complex constructions are stand-ins for facets of a person’s psyche. Faced with similar conflict, the communities have acted in different ways. Some have given up, while others have improved their defenses. Some have turned to God, as others have made the most of it. Although the future is bleek, the colors in this series are playful. It allows viewers to more easily become engaged with the work and ponder its message. Also, those individuals that effectively cope with their changing environment are left stronger and more resilient.
